I’m a hands on creative leader with extensive experience in all things creative communication. I’m a copywriter by trade, who specialises in culture-led ideas, social media, film, youth comms and creative strategy.
Creative Direction
I’m confident in delivering quality at pace, developing, building and presenting ideas of any shape. I’ve been around the traps and am well versed in the demands of agency life. Importantly, I’m on the tools, happy to work alone, BYO partner or muck in with your existing team. If you need a safe set of hands for an ongoing project, tricky client, big pitch or you’re a traffic manager needing to bring in the cavalry - I’m your guy.
Concepting & Ideating
Creative ideas and problem solving. Big brand platforms, campaign ideas, film, digital, data led, social, branded content, NPD, partnerships, collabs, merch, activations - the lot. My ideas have won awards across digital, craft, activation, peoples choice and effectiveness. Quality over quantity, always.
Niche Knowledge
Certain brands require a particular level of lived experience to communicate authentically to their core audience. I’m a surfer, avid outdoorsman and beersman who gets the importance of nuance within those worlds. This understanding has allowed me to deliver authentic campaigns for brands like; FCS, Rip Curl, Lion, BCF and Burton.
Copywriting
Brand platforms, TV scripts, headlines, pithy idea write-ups, trade releases, captions, case studies, even songs for Lee Kernaghan - I write ‘em all. My perspective, personal taste and lived experiences will bring a level of weirdness and authenticity that even the most seasoned chatGPT prompters won’t be able to match.
Brand & Creative Strategy
To give the best ideas the best chance they need to be watertight strategically. Plus ideas flow more freely with a decent strategic foundation. I take a (largely) measured strategic approach to briefs and love jamming planners and occasionally stepping on their toes. There’s infinite people who can make shit look cool, making cool shit that makes sense is the ticket.
Disclaimer: I’m not an art director or designer. I’d like to consider myself a well-rounded visual creative but if you’re specifically looking for someone who’s a whiz on the tools, I ain’t it. If that’s the case I have a few trusted and talented people I can recommend, or am more than happy to work within your existing resources.
